Bacio = Kiss

My first time… at Bacio

A few weeks back a couple of my girlfriends wanted to catch up over happy hour. As usual, I am always very excited  and look forward to the opportunity to try something new. Since one of the girls works in “the boonies” I compiled a list of options that were somewhat central to each of us. I then asked the girls to let me know the places they had not been, and we would go there.

After a few emails back and forth it was decided that we should go to Bacio in Minnetonka. I haven’t heard much regarding this place but do know quite a few professionals that head that way for happy hour. The happy hour is referred to as 456 (4 favorites at $5 each until 6pm, clever, right?).

Christine and I arrived a little early and situated ourself at a high top table in the bar area. They had great happy hour drink and food specials. She opted for wine while I chose the house sangria.

Once Ashley arrived, we decided to start with a wood fired Margharita pizza– it was so yummy that I almost forgot to take a picture. The flavors were subtle and light but the perfect combination of sauce, cheese and spices.

After the bar area started filling up we decided we wanted to stay for dinner. While we had the option to dine in the bar we headed to a table to try another area of the restaurant that was a little less bustling.

The menu dinner menu had an array of options from salads, soups and pastas to steaks and sanwichs; there was something for everyone. Ash and I both ordered the Chopped Salad– romaine, butter lettuce, pulled chicken, tomato, st. pete’s blue cheese, red onion and crispy prosciuttowith spicy sweet dressing

And Christine picked the Filet Mignon Sandwich–roasted onion and horseradish aioli on griddledciabatta with house-cut fries

I loved my salad, and so did Ashley (with her food aversion modifications). There was a great blend of flavors and lots of colors to delight all the senses. The filet sandwich was cooked to perfection and paired with some delectable fries.

Overall, our dining experience was great. The happy hour was a great bargain in a fun atmosphere. The dinner continued proved to be perfectly portioned and delicious. I would recommend Bacio to anyone looking for good food, atmosphere, and environment. I can’t wait to try their sister restaurant Zelo in downtown Minneapolis.

Cheers!
