A Downtown Tradition Since 1902

My first time… at Gluek’s

The weather over the weekend was absolutely perfect; feeling more of summer than a fall day. I loved spending as much time as I could outside and was thrilled to finally try Gluek’s Bar and Restaurant. This staple corner bar has been going strong for over 78 years!

The extensive menu offers blue plate specials such as Beef Stroganoff and Open-faced Hot Roast Beef Sandwich to simple starters like wings and sliders. Not to mention Gluek’s very own family of beers!

While it was difficult to make my selection I opted for the Black and Bleu Burger: A half pound Angus burger with spicy Cajun seasoning, covered with bleu cheese crumbles. The combination of Cajun seasoning and toasted bleu cheese was divine. A hefty side of fries was sprinkled in their own secret seasoning and too good to be dipped in ketchup.

“The past decade has been a period of rebirth for Gluek’s Bar & Restaurant. While the bar remains as popular as ever, the restaurant is emerging as one of the most comfortable and satisfying dining experiences in the Warehouse District. Our special blend of history, culture, and contemporary spirit has made Gluek’s a choice meeting place for generations.”  (Glueks.com)

With great food as well as indoor and outdoor dining spaces, this 4th generation Minneapolis establishment is going strong. Drop in for live music, great atmosphere or just a cold beer! Cheers!
