New York, New York

What an incredible city– I’ve seen some of the largest trees in the world, been in gorgeous rainforests, walked under thundering waterfalls, and while natural beauty may hold supreme the man-made beauty of New York City never ceases to amaze me! Here are a few sights from around the city

A little nostalgia

After a long day of sightseeing and shopping Jamison took us to a little Williamsburg hotspot called Pies~n~ Thighs, and WOW did they deliver. The small unassuming store front feel gave way to a great open air patio, filled with small tables covered in red and white checked tablecloths.

The menu is all down home-cookin’ from fried chicken and catfish to pulled pork and brisket there is something for everyone– of the meat-eating preference! And the sides are TO DIE FOR… homemade Mac N Cheese, Potato Salad, Collard Greens and Hush Puppies to only name a few. I opted for the Fried Chicken Box with potato salad and a huge biscuit. As if that weren’t enough, we topped it off with a fresh slice of homemade apple pie and a piece of cheddar cheese–INCREDIBLE!

"Get in my belly!!"

After such a hearty meal, we needed a walk and headed to the subway and then onto one of my new favorite dive bars, Kings County. Until recently, there were no identifying characteristics to the outside of the building– unfortunately the bar was so dark and I couldn’t take any pictures inside but see the brand new sign below!

King's County

You better believe after the long day of sightseeing, shopping and eating and eating and eating… I hit the hay!
